The North Shore on Oahu is an iconic spot for your Hawaii vacation. This beautiful family rented a beach house in Haliewa for a month in the summer and wanted some family photos to remember their trip by. I LOVE photographing Oahu vacationers. It makes me feel like I’m on vacation as well! When you live on this beautiful island, eventually you do get used to how amazing it really is. So I love meeting people new to experiencing Oahu and to see it through their eyes. Oahu is pure magic!

While I definitely want to capture a few photos of everyone smiling and looking at the camera, connection is what your family photos are really about. The Volmann family was silly, playful, and energetic. They were also one of the most well-behaved and sweet group of kiddos I have ever shot – good job Mom and Dad!
I also thought they chose their outfits perfectly. Do you see how everyone looks cohesive – but not “matchy – matchy?” You can achieve this look by choosing 2-4 colors and then mixing patterns and textures. Its the perfect trick for looking effortlessly chic in your family photos!
