Liz and Linden’s Intimate Wedding on Oahu Hawaii

Liz and Linden’s wedding was one of my favorite wedding days of all time! They had all the components of a perfect destination wedding on Oahu: Incredible florals (thanks to Linden’s mom – a floral designer), GREAT friends and family, a stunning backdrop at their AirBnb… and of course – these ladies are head over heels in love with each other.

A big part of The Copper Collective’s brand is that we believe EVERYONE deserves a magical wedding day!

We shoot a lot of Same Sex weddings across our three locations. This might not seem BIG now, but I became a wedding photographer before same sex couples could have legal marriages in the US. So yeah, every LGBTQ wedding I shoot feels like a big deal!

When I arrived to their AirBNB, Liz and Linden were getting ready together. They had planned to do a first look, but decided they would rather spend the morning together instead. This is why I LOVE elopements! You truly can do whatever you want!

We took photos around the property before the ceremony and we had a blast. Right before ceremony started, one of their guests collected everyone’s cell phones in a basket. A truly unplugged wedding! Another dream come true for this Oahu wedding photographer.

I 100% respect that guests want a few snapshots of the day. But I always feel a little bummed when guests watch the ceremony from behind their phones. Weddings are a sacred event, so I really believe everyone should be present – body, mind and spirit!

After the ceremony Liz and Linden took 10 minutes to have a little champagne picnic on the beach and exchange gifts. Another reason I love these brides! Most weddings are GO GO GO. Liz and Linden took 10 intentional minutes to be alone and take in the day. LOVE!!

We continued on to family photos, bride and bride photos, dances, cake cutting and all the other fun stuff! Liz and Linden had the perfect little destination wedding day on Oahu!
